DJ SHOGUN ATTACKS!
It is easy to see why Andrew Chen has achieved a great reputation within the trance scene. He’s one of those DJs who knows what trance music fans like the most, blending the best and most populasr tracks at his gigs and well, most importantly is the fact that his own productions bring the perfect formula: Emotion + Energy + Magic + Feeling = TRANCE. Plus, if we add this the support of the greatest exponents who are trending worldwide now such as: Ferry Corsten, Paul Van Dyk, Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, Gareth Emery, Markus Schulz, among others, they give Shogun a great comfort. Being objective and a potential star of trance music so far, his tracks such as ‘Skyfire’, have been selected by the djs recently named and they’ve been added in Trance compilation albums, giving to these records a stronger body, a futuristic atmosphere that you can find in Andrew’s singles.
SOME TRACKS
By following the line of his work I find titles like: ‘Moonlight Over Asia’ an exciting track that drives you to jump to the highest point you could ever reach with your fingers, very intense… ideal for breaking the dancefloor if you play it at a party, I assure you that. Another track is its counterpart called ‘Nowhere To Run’ which also has an amazing quality and takes Groove at a good state level while the audience is dancing, excellent track. Then, the following tracks like ‘Re-Ignition’, ‘City of Angels’, ‘Star Line’, among others, which I think helped him gain a position within the scene, they also keeep mostly the rhythm and sound of the Future of Trance. Most people who listen to it know that it has pure integrated power.
By analyzing SHOGUN’s trajectory I think his main job, which gave him such a leap to fame was, besides ‘Skyfire’, ‘Save to me’… This track doesnt even need any description and it speaks for itself. What you feel is so intimate that keeps forever inside oneself’s. It deserves a huge recognition, .it made me feel very proud that Christian Schweizer has created a Mashup with Luigi Lusini’s track ‘Who we Are’ and getting ‘Save Who We Are’, splitting the constellation of emotions in thousands parts once again. Certainly, all this constant anxiety in his productions and their new exponents’s prductions in this Trance Universe are taking this to a golden age, it’s something that we, their fans who love this genre, appreciate it so much.
QUESTIONS
Well finally, let’s go to our list of questions for Andrew Chen, better known as Shogun, only here in # Tranceworld.

Andrew Chen.
1. How was Andrew’s fascination with electronic music?
Dance music came into my life when I first heard the beautiful melodic trance music tracks.Previously, I used to listen to much music Industrial Nine Inch Nails and The Prodigy for the electronics they used were different from those that went on the radio, which were the most common, ie the top 40 tracks. But despite the complexity of gender in Industrial beats, had no such emotional melodies and poignant look for in a track.
2. – Walking through the large … – Who were your early mentors in the creation of the idea of being a DJ?
Paul van Dyk was a great inspiration for me when I first jumped as a DJ. I never had a mentor when I was younger, and I wanted to learn everything myself and have practice in all kinds of musical instruments, including DJs trays. Buy a VHS tape that was called ‘The Invisible Scratch Pickles’ DJ Qbert and learned to use it only as a guide.
3. Trance: What was the first track of this genre you moved himself to be part of this branch of electronic music?
When I first heard ‘Communication’ by Gouryella and Armin van Buuren, one could say that this track changed my life.
4. Andrew how he shares his music with his inner circle, family, friends … what do they say of your time and ascending successful career?
They are very happy and very supportive, which is very important to me. It is beautiful to do what I love and also have the support of my loved ones. It can be difficult to travel and be away from them for long periods of time but is worth doing.
5. Smiling to life: I’d like to relate some funny story within your tours, something that can tell whether obvious or could be described as truth are taking your music everywhere.
He was playing at a concert, and the fire department arrived to close the club due to protests by noise. One of the firefighters ended up staying until dawn and re partying more than any person who was at the club.
6. To those who through this interview will simply say: Thank you
I want to thank my parents and brothers for supporting me. Also thanks to Armin van Buuren and Armada family.
Just invent an improvement on those who know say, “This is not good.”
1. What are the hours of music creation Shogun?
It takes me a month to create a track from start to finish. In the study working 12 hours a day, which occupies most of my time. When not making music, I play Uncharted 3 or watch TV to relax.
2. I wonder how it was for you to create music Trance How is being in a full implementation of your projects, while savoring the sense of perfection?
After ending production of the track and hear it for the last time I put in place the listener instead of the place of the producer and if the track takes me to the tracks or me goose bumps, I know it is complete. If it takes me a big smile on my face, then I know it’s ready.
3. I really like within your track ‘Space Odyssey’ which motivated me realizarte eg this interview and ‘Moonlight Over Asia’ which is by far one of your most outstanding creations, Well … What’s it like in your tracks so little time have captivated the minds of thousands of fans around the world?
I am extremely grateful and very modestly gives me that people around the world have responded so positively to my music. It is amazing to know that there are people in many countries who are my fans! 2011 has been a year so overwhelming as spectacular to me.Working very hard this year and my job is gaining much recognition and for that reason, I am truly grateful.
4. Talk about ‘Skyfire’ Tell me how you got please find the perfect formula?
Skyfire is a track that went perfectly. When I wrote the melodies I knew they were going to be explosive, so I wanted to do it in a more aggressive bassline for the track sound more banging, then decided to give it a more aggressive for the track sound more ‘big room’.The melodies, the vocals, and production all came naturally and I had a lot of inspiration for me.
5. Within your vocal trance work What would you highlight in this interview for our personal enjoyment?
My favorite track is one I just did with Susan, and will soon see why I love his voice and I think it is by far one of my best productions.
Stamps and Future work
1. Having signed to Armada S107 was a great achievement in your career you tell us was that experience like for you?
It was an incredible feeling to know that Armada and Armin were fans of my music. Being hired the greatest label of trance made me feel I had achieved one of my biggest dreams. It is an honor to be part of an impressive list of fellow artists.
2. In your discography contains the label Monster Tunes I’d like to tell me some of that stamp, which apparently relied on your skills first.
My tracks were a Monster Tunes Uplifting style which I like to do and still play in my sets all the time. It’s good to have a wide variety of productions and I am proud of tracks that were released on Monster Tunes.
3. Now you’re premiering the EP ‘Space Odyssey / Lotus’ two tracks that have much to talk about How was the reception from the public?
“Lotus / Space Odyssey” EP was released on 12 December and so far has been a great success. ”Lotus”reached # 6 in Trance Chart Bearport Space Odyssey”and”at # 11!”Lotus” is a very personal track for me, so I’m glad to have much success. It is what follows the “Skyfire” and has a more uplifting in the history of darkness”mentioned in”Skyfire, which is about war and poverty. All my tracks are emotional and dark because I feel the trance music should reflect the sentiments that the producer has when creating a track. I like the warm, clear voice, while playing piano with different compositions.
4. I take this opportunity to send you very lucky to be in the race for the coveted anthem of ASOT 550 on your track ’550 ‘What projects are coming in the future?
The producers try to make sure his last track is in top and aim to create new sounds and emotions. Although it is known as ‘Mr Skyfire’ in 2011, in 2012 I will present some records melodic and explosive, I’m working on new collaborations with vocalists, and soon I will work to create a remix album and continuing large names. I also love to work on movie soundtracks.
5. I would like to send us any favor in particular greeting to the fans who read us …
I love my fans in America and I hope very anxious to play in Argentina on January 21! If you are near Mar del Plata, I’d love to see them in my show! Tranceworld.org thank you very much for the opportunity they gave me and for your time. A hug and I hope you enjoyed my answers, many blessings!
